What are they?
Lightly seasoned with garlic, cumin and red onion, and packed with courgettes! These lovely light bites are crispy on the outside whilst soft in the centre and are both delicious and healthy!
How best to eat them?
Probably one of our most versatile products, these crispy veg fritters truly can fit into any part of the day. Why not begin with breakfast and add a couple of poached eggs for a great, nourishing start to the day! They can also make a great savoury snack at any time, just pop them in a toaster or oven for a few mins until they are hot through and nice and crispy. These can also be enjoyed on the side of a main dish - we love to have them with our curries to help soak up whatever’s left of the yummy sauce 😋
How they compare....
This is a tough one, as I’m not sure there are any foods I’ve ever bought commercially that can be enjoyed in quite so many ways as our crispy veg fritters. Perhaps the best equivalent would be something like a hash brown - a savoury side or snack that can be eaten at various times of the day (but - spoiler-alert - not nearly so healthy). Salt is one of the most problematic areas with most hash browns, even the healthier ones that avoid additives and preservatives.
Why should you buy ours?
Your typical hash brown consists of one predominant thing - potato. Our fritters are based on courgette, which is high in antioxidants and vitamin C amongst other good things. You’ll also find some energy-boosting gluten-free oats and a little tangy goat cheddar (lower in sodium and richer in minerals than cows cheese). Some red onion (more antioxidants!), garlic and a few gentle spices then combine to give them a mild but satisfying flavour. Unlike commercially bought hash-browns, salt is the most minimal ingredient on our list, using just a touch of Himalayan pink salt (which contains beneficial trace minerals) to round out the modest seasoning.
However and whenever you choose to add these to your daily diet, our crispy veg fritters come complete with a positive nutritional boost to get (or keep!) your day going with a bang. Â
